The standard sized cards feature a color action shot of the player with the background in monotone. Bordered only on the bottom, the team name, set logo, and player name are all listed on the card fronts. The fronts also have a glossy refractor like finish to them. The card backs are are photo-less. the backs list basic biographical information, brief career highlights, last year and career best statistics. The team logo is also on the card back.

2011 Bowman Platinum has another strong showing for this year. Perfect collation yields most of a base set and was right on with the hits. There are plenty of colored parallels to chase. The overall quality and card design are top notch! The chrome autos are on card. The auto/relic is a sticker auto but the card is designed for it. the only other drawback is that the chrome cards do have the infamous "chrome curl."

The Bottom Line:
I give 2011 Bowman Platinum a buy rating. Most of a complete base set, lots of inserts and parallels to chase, and good looking hits!

The Final Score:
Final Ratings (Out of 5):
Base set collect-ability: 4/5
Big-hit Hunter: 4/5
Prospector Hunter: 5/5
Overall Design: 5/5
Fun: 5/5
Value: 3/5
Re-buy: 5/5
Overall Quality: 5/5

Overall: 36/40 (90% = A)

Topps sent me this box to review for Baseball Digest. I am also offering these cards to members of The Bench for a SASE.

Thanks to Topps for making this review possible!
