Is card collecting dead?

The site's activity is way down and it seems like more and more people are getting out of the hobby these days. There are many things to consider why this is happening. Lots of negatives driving down the fun hobby

#1 The economy being what it is most people are either out of work or just don't have the extra money to spend on a box/pack of cards.

#2 Lack of competition - Collectors use to complain about too many sets being produced by 5+ brands. Now it seems with just 2 major players, things are lacking ...

I see members have begun to use the blog system. So I thought I would take some time to outline a few thoughts I had on how to utilize the BLOGS.

First this your should do is create a catchy BLOG name. It will default to your screen name, but naming it something that revolves around what your blog is about will help other decide if they will visit or keep surfing. The idea is to attract members to visit so think it out before moving forward.

We don't need no stinking user pages!!!!

You now have a blog baby!

Create a Blog page, go to your blog settings and there is an option to create a custom page (actually 10 pages if you wish).
You can have the links display at the top or on the right side.

Check out my Blog for an example.

Click on Blogs in the Nav Bar and the Blog Settings

Here you have multiple options to edit the look and feel of your Blog. Including creating custom pages

If you are planning on attending the Long Island National (http://nyshows.org/Hofstra_Shows_LI_National.html) please stop by The Bench booth and say hello.

This is our first attempt setting up at a show. We will not be selling anything, just plugging the site and hopefully drum up some new members.

I'll post more details as to where we are located the day of the show. We will be in attendance both day Oct 20 & 21st.
