Hi everyone,
Even though I joined a while ago and have been posting regularly I haven't actually introduced myself so I thought I would say hi.
I'm from Wales in the UK and have been collecting baseball for just over a year after a break of 12 years and I'm a Giants fan.
I collect Adam Lind...
I brought up a similar incident regarding a Pujols 1/1 a couple of months back and actually emailed Topps to ask for information regarding the holo code.
This is what I sent:
I came across an auction for an autographed Albert Pujols card but I
have reservations on the legitimacy of the card...
1 - Get to 300 unique Adam Lind cards. Currently on 141.
2 - Bust at least 6 hobby boxes. It doesn't sound much but I have to take into account a high shipping cost as well as possible import taxes.
3 - Stick to a budget!!!
You would think that Topps would keep a dedicated site for all product information. Such as checklists, SPs and card insert ratio. Does that sound like to much to ask for?
I emailed Topps with the information from the holograms and after 3 days they emailed me back. I cant remember what they said exactly since it was about a month ago but it was something like:
'Topps does not hold information on any of its products that is over a year old. For more information...
That's exactly what we do. It sucks! I'd love to be able to walk into a card shop and pick up a few packs/boxes but I'm stuck paying for shipping and import taxes on anything over $35ish and thats $$$ I'd rather spend on cards.
There are no specific card shops that I'm aware of anywhere in the...
Nope, never seen one or heard of one being held there and I've been looking for over a year.
You'll find sports cards/stickers at most convenience stores. The two big brands are Topps and Panini, all you'll probably find are soccer cards and cards that tie in with films and TV shows.
I've been trying to find the Topps site that I can enter those codes but I'm having no luck finding it.
Thanks for everyones input.
Edit:
Just got a response from the seller:
"they are hand signed single cards they did not come from packs."
Still doesnt look right.
I sent the seller a message asking for more details, since its 130am over here in the UK I doubt I'll get a response until morning, if I get a response at all.
Thats exactly what I thought. I was under the impression that only Bowman products were included in the Bowman originals buybacks so the T206 and Heritage should have no place being there. But as Vlad said maybe the seller has no idea because it does have an official holo on the back.
I came across these two auctions on eBay UK.

I'm pretty sure they are fake, what do you think?
