au - autograph (also "auto")
blaster - retail box
bm - bubble mailer or beckett marketplace/monthly
bsl - Bench Sim League
bump - a post for the sole purpose of moving a thread to the top of a forum (akin to "ttt")
bv - book value
cl - checklist
cmb - check my bucket
coa - certificate of authenticity
comc - check out my cards (usually referring to the website COMC)
cor - corrected card
dc - delivery confirmation
decoy - blank cardstock inserted by card companies into packs in an attempt to thwart pack searchers
dp - double print
err - error card
eu - event used
flipping - acquiring a card for the express purpose of quickly selling/trading for a profit/gain
fs - for sale
ft - for trade
gu - game used
hot pack - pack of cards known to contain a particular type of insert
htg - hard to get
idk - I don't know
jsy - jersey
lmk - let me know
lcs - local card shop
lyk - let you know
msf - must send first
nft - not for trade
nno - no number
nnof - no name on front
opg - online price guide
ot - off topic
pack searching - any method used to ascertain the contents of a sealed pack without opening it
pc - personal collection
plmk - please let me know
pm - private message
po - post office
pwe - plain white envelope
rainbow - all variations of the same card in a given set
rc - rookie card
sase - self addressed stamped envelope
slabbed - a card sealed in a hard plastic case by a grading or authentication company
sp - short print or single print
sv - sale value
ttm - through the mail
ttt - to the top (see "bump")
usps - united states postal service
vhtg - very hard to get
wtb - want to buy
wts - want to sell
wttf - want to trade for


Grading abbreviations
mt - mint
nrmtmt - near mint mint
nrmt - near mint
exmt - excellent mint
ex - excellent
vg - very good
g - good
f - fair
p - poor
Often, the addition of a plus (+) or minus (-) sign after the grade is used to designate a card in between grades

BM? never heard of BM, except in medical terms, and I am sure that is not what it means!

I could have used something like that when I first started. I had to figure them out as I went or ask.
 
yea that was part of my post, but i was thinking that it should be more standalone than hoidden in the Faq's after i posted it i remembered it was there but its a nead feature thats to hidden i think.

Got a link for that ? I looked thru the faq's and couldn't find it.

If found to be a good idea by the mods to make this a sticky on a board, or boards, I'd be more than happy to post and monitor the threads and add to the first post any new lingo posted by the members

My two cents - it's a GREAT idea! Hope a sticky or something becomes a reality!! Thanks for volunteering to monitor things!!
