Steve Howe was acquired at this game as my high school coach was a scout for Cincy and had helped the Howe sign with the Yankees that offseason. Just so happened that they were in town the week of the state tourney and we made it. Lost horribly in the first round but got to take in the game and talk with Howe for about 30 min during BP. Kelly was Autograph party in 96.

Sept 23 1995. This was one of the last games of Puckett's career, also a great game for Chicago's Lance Johnson...6 for 6 with 3 triples and 4 rbi's. Last time that an opposing player had six hits against the Twins until this year when Jean Segura went 6 for 6.

June 11, 1999 Twins Brewers Paul Molitor's Jersey Retirement in Milwaukee. This was only 2 weeks before the crane collapse at Miller Park and the first game that I saw outside the Dome...Guess what almost happened...that's right a two hr. rain delay that hit just after the ceremony got finished. Jacque Jones got first big league hit in this game. Later asked him at Twinsfest what his thoughts were and he said "Man I'm just glad it got finished!

Thanks... it is one of those where you think "if I was Kirby how would I sign this to make it look awesome" My favorite of the three of his that I have. On a side note the last time I got Kirby was at the Twins Winter Caravan in 2001 and he had just been elected to the Hall about 2 weeks prior to that and as I got to him in the line I asked if he was still going to open his Car Wash, because as most Twins fans from that era know he'd always said that when he retired he just wanted to be a regular guy and run a car wash. He response was "Naw, man it's too hard to find good help these days!"

April 28, 2001 Brewers Expos at Miller Park. Everyone around me was talking about Vladimir Guerrero but the story of this game was the Brewers left fielder Geoff Jenkins. First time up he hits a 2 run homer, ab #2 a solo shot, ab #3 a three run bomb. At this point I turned to my brother and said, "If there is a base open his next time up they won't pitch to him, there is no way" So sure enough in the 7th two singles and an error bring up Jenks with the sacks juiced. Now remember this was the first month Miller Park was open and there was a large crowd, so as the crowd sensed a little history and everyone was on their feet...he struck out looking. Good news was he help Ben Sheet gain his first big league win. (found out afterwards he would have been the first player to hit a Home run Cycle (solo, 2r, 3r, GS) in one game. Sheets Trade.

July 17, 2010 White Sox Twins from Target Field.
Pavano was a trade here and Valencia was ttm last spring. Kotsay was obtained in a pack. First Game saw at Target Field...just like the first game at County Stadium this one was almost rained out if it were not for a 60's era pitching performance from Pavano and White Sox starter Mark Burhle. Game was done in just under 2 hrs and then there was a torrential downpour.
