First stop this year was the 2014 Colorado Rockies Fanfest. It was my first fest as they did not hold one in 2013. It was a well done fest with a good selection of players there and numerous sessions and Q&A as well as open access to the players clubhouse.

Thanks guys! I expected it to be a bit more crowded and hectic but actually the various events were scattered throughout the ballpark so it was never too bad. Players were approachable for the most part.

Nice job. I didn't have much luck last year at Tribefest so I blew it off this weekend. I'm waiting to hear how great it was this year (of course!).

By chance is the 2012 Topps Heritage Minors of Rutledge available for trade?

Give me some time to get back to you, really swamped lately. The Rutledge isn't for trade as I needed it for the 2012 THM set too. I can trade the Friedrich 2012 Bowman Draft(s) and the Kyle Parkers probably. I don't need Rockies in return necessarily as I'm actually a transplant. First choices would be 2012 THM, 2013 THM, 2013 PD, 2011 THM, 2012/2013 Bowman/BDPP for the most part...

Was my first time at Salt River Fields and was a nice place with good access to
the fields and to the players. Being the home team in AZ it did seem that the
players were generous with their time for autographs.

Was a pretty nice experience and pretty crowded. For a variety of reasons I was not able to pick up any autograph vouchers so I just looked for one off opportunities and had some success.

Best part of the day was a free photo opp with legendary '84 world series Tigers teammates Kirk Gibson and Alan Trammel. As a Dodger fan of course it's all about '88 but that Tigers team was fun to watch too.

Sunday February 9th, 2014
Los Angeles Dodgers at Camelback Ranch

Day 1 of spring training and the crowds were pretty big but not completely crazy. Fair amount of families along with the expected crowd. Bullpens and PFPs were on the minor league back fields which was a change from what I saw last year. Thought I had a ball with me but forgot it so missed out on Maury Wills as he stopped and signed forever. Biggest mob was for Kershaw and as it turned out due to the mob no one really saw Ryu stopping and signing.

Thanks! It's pretty crowded but it will get worse as the rest of the players report. The crowds do thin out once Kershaw is done for the day.

Los Angeles Dodgers at Camelback Ranch

Might get one more chance tomorrow but won't be there for long so probably won't get much more. Today was not as crowded as day 1 and those that were there fled en masse once Kershaw finished up for the day. I waited until the very end and was greeted with the chance to catch Alex Guerrero the latest Cuban signee. He does not have cards yet though and I brought an already signed ball instead of a fresh one so missed out.
