The checklist stops at 510 cards but price guides say that there are 514 cards for the set. What are the additional 4 cards?

There are two Shaq RCs 1 and 1b. One you got in packs and the other one got if you pulled a Draft Trade Card and redeemed it by mailing it in to Upper Deck. The Draft Trade Card is one of the 4 extra cards you are looking for.

There are also 2 different cad #32 and #33s. 32 is Doug Christie RC and 32A is Magic Johnson. Card 33 is Jim Jackson RC and 33A is Larry Bird. Those are your 4 extra cards. I might be corrected on the Draft Trade Card being one of the "extra four" but I am 99% sure that is the case.

There are other variations in the set but they don't count as one of the extra cards. I know there is a Jordan and Dominique Wilkins card that both have variations but you only need one of each for your set.

Here is a link to the checklist of the 1992-93 Upper Deck with pictures of all the cards front and back.

Thank you. That is what I was kind of thinking. I wasn't sure about the trade card. Does it need to be the non stamped traded card for the set? Also I take it that the set value includes these 4 cards?

If I remember right, when you received your Shaq redemption card, they returned your original redemption card back to you with a hole punch, punched through it. I don't know if it is considered part of the set, since it had a hole in it.

The set value counts those 4 cards for sure. I am not sure if it matters if the trade card is punched or not. And you probably know there is quite a prce difference in the 2 Shaq RCs. If my memory is correct, the non redemption one is something like $50 and the redemption one is $15 or so.

from beckett :

The complete 1992-93 Upper Deck basketball set consists of 510 standard-size cards issued in two series of 310 and 200 cards, respectively. High series cards are slightly tougher to find (compared to the low numbers) because high series packs contained a mix of high and low series cards. For both series, cards were issued in 15-card hobby and retail foil packs, 27-card locker packs and 27-card jumbo packs. No factory sets were produced by Upper Deck for this issue. Both series were also distributed through 27-card Locker packs. Card number 1A (available only in low series packs) is a "Trade Upper Deck" card that the collector could trade to Upper Deck for a Shaquille O'Neal mail-away trade card beginning on Jan. 1, 1993. The offer expired June 30, 1993. The fronts feature color action player photos with white borders. The team name is gold-foil stamped across the top of the picture. The border design at the bottom consists of a team colored stripe that shades from one team color to the other with diagonal stripes within the larger stripe that add texture. The entire design is edged in gold foil. The right end is off-set slightly by the Upper Deck logo. The backs show an action player photo that runs down the left side of the card. The right side displays statistics printed on a ghosted NBA logo. Topical subsets featured include NBA Draft (2-21), Team Checklists (35-61), and Scoring Threats (62-66). The set also includes two art cards (67-68) and one Stay in School card (69). Second series subsets featured are Team Fact Cards (350-376), NBA East All-Star Game (421-433), NBA West All-Star Game (434-445), In Your Face (446-454), Top Prospects (455-482), NBA Game Faces (483-497), Scoring Threats (498-505), and Fanimation (506-510). The cards are numbered on the back. Rookie Cards of note include Doug Christie (second series SP), Tom Gugliotta, Jim Jackson (second series SP), Christian Laettner, Alonzo Mourning, Shaquille O'Neal (second series SP), Latrell Sprewell and Clarence Weatherspoon. A card commemorating the retirement of Larry Bird and Magic Johnson (SP1) and the 20,000th point scored by Dominique Wilkins and Michael Jordan (SP2) were first and second series inserts, respectively. There were inserted at a rate of one in 72 packs. The basic card numbers of Jordan (23), Magic (32) and Bird (33) represent their uniform numbers.
