Fire is an affordable issue and contains 200 base cards with legends (Ruth, Gehrig, Aaron), current veterans, and rookies. The cards are on thinner stock with a high gloss front. The front of the card is dedicated more to the busy design than the player in my opinion. It's just way too busy for my taste.
Fire is a good issue for the folks who just collect the Topps base sets to branch out a bit. The player collector will also like Fire. Fire contains a number of inserts and parallels, including foils and refractors.

I believe these are the red foil parallels -- Martinez, E. Matthews, Verlander, L. Brinson -- the card is shinier and really red AND they don't look 'right' in the set, i.e. they stand out big time....

Fire is an issue that is a bit quirky and will appeal to a certain segment of the collecting audience. That being said, IF one pulls an auto/patch like I pulled..... it is more than worth it to buy several boxes!! Such a sweet patch auto!!
Overall grade A- -- design is too busy for me - but the Bryant makes it all good!
Go buy several boxes and see if you can hit gold with a cool auto/patch!
