RIP Jerry Van Dyke -- the beloved Luther from "Coach". Always enjoyed how that show portrayed big time college football almost to a T!

sad to see "Fast" Eddie Clarke of Motorhead pass away yesterday.

He lives his life, he's living it fast
Don't try to hide, when the dice have been cast
He rides a whirlwind, that cuts to the bone
    Loaded forever, and ferociously stoned

On iron horse he flies, on iron horse he gladly dies
Iron horse his wife, iron horse his life

He played with my neighbor on the National Championship MN Gophers baseball team, too.

Might be a stretch, but I remember the movie Airheads with a question along the line of who would win a battle between god and Lemmy.....trick question, because Lemmy IS God. That is pretty much the extent of my Motorhead knowledge, with the exception of "Ace of Spades

Unfortunately, it is something that is happening more and more as these vintage players age.....Have had a couple come back as such, and had a couple ready to send out, that I never bothered to when I saw they had passed.

Tremendous loss. One of the iconic voices of sports, IMHO. Whether it was CFB (on which he left an indelible imprint) or MLB, I always loved listening to him. His voice was mellifluous, he did not stray off into extraneous discussions, and his enthusiasm was palpable.
    RIP,
    Boots
On small trades I use PWE but'll use a bubble mailer if you ask.
Slow trader. Please be patient: I love trading, but I don't have enuf time for it, so it takes me a while.

Check my site: http://www.freewebs.com/frankpell/ for wants and trade items.
    "CMB"'s will be ignored. Sorry.

RIP Keith Jackson -- that is the exact phrase I would have picked to punctuate it as well!

Yeah, that is a shocker especially because she did not seem to suffer from any of the pitfalls (drugs, alcohol, crazy lifestyle etc.) that many music stars do. She seemed to be following the Pat Benatar path with attaining huge fame and fortune, then stepping away from the music scene to raise her family and then coming back to the music scene in a much smaller scale. This is very shocking and sad.
