Not to nit-pick here but the Dave Wilcox is a Philadelphia card not a Topps. The fact I remember that set from "back in the day" is alarming as it means.............well.........I'm old! LOL

I've always found it interesting that Ken Houston's and Willie Lanier's RCs are in consecutive numbers (113 and 114) in the 1971 Topps set. I wonder if having 2 RCs of HOFers in consecutive numbers has ever happened before in any other sports card issue?

Welcome to The Bench and good luck on your quest for these RCs!

Ooops....thanks...

Thats interesting I wonder what year set has produced the most HOF rookies in any sport.

I have to figure some of the basketball sets like the 1957-58 Topps , 1962-63 Fleer and the 1986-87 Fleer would be some in the running as they were all the first sets after several years of no basketball sets being printed so there are multiple seasons of RCs represented in those 3 sets.

I know a set like the 1977 Topps football has a bunch of HOF RCss too and is overlooked because most are "minor" Hofers.........if there is such a thing. And if memory serves, there are a lot in the 1972 Topps set also. That is a really good question though.

For football, both the 1948 Leaf and 1952 Bowman (small and Large) have 14 HOF RC's each. 1948 Bowman is 2nd with 10. Also, there are only 2 years between 1948 and 1997 (most players after that are not yet eligible) that have not produced any HOF RC's, which are 1980 and 1992.

Sorry. I PC NFL HOF RC's, so I figured I'd share some knowledge.

I will take a look to see if I have any of your wants.

Thanks,
Brad

Interesting stats on the HOF RCs for football. The 1992 Draft is considered the worst in history and the 1980 Topps set ended up being a disappointment. I thought Phil Simms might get in and Otis Anderson I believed was a shoo-in since he rushed for 10,000 yds which at that time was like 500 HRs in baseball. But neither made it and I can't think of anyone else out of that set that has a chance.

I did look up HOF RCs for basketball and it looks like the 1957-58 Topps set leads the way with a whopping 23 HOF RCs in the set.

Lester Hayes is the only other one who may have a shot at the HOF, but it would be a long shot.

Let me know, have some wants Im keeping to myself as I work on a few things. If you cant hit anything let me know and I'll share that bit of information.

I may have a few hof dupes from that list. My HOF needs are linked in my sig if you have any

Looks like a swing and a miss on my end. I do have a few vintage baseball slabs in collector grades. If I ever get this 2nd computer in here to link up to the internet I'll compile a better list of what I have available.
