I am so torn on this team (USWNT). I will back just about anything USA 100% -- but this team (at least certain members of it), seem almost a bit to full of themselves at this point. And after reading Sue Bird's obscenity laden diatribe on The Players Tribune, I don't think I would be upset if the US team lost in the Finals to whomever they matchup against.

With that said -- these women should all get a raise and they should all be making more $$$ than the members of the mens team. The reports on their jersey sales are off the charts - I think currently the #1 item flying off the racks for Nike. And more importantly, THEY WIN!!!

We can talk about the USWNT world cup win tomorrow...

Anybody else watching this HR Derby from C-Town???

Vlad v. Joc was absolutely amazing to watch. My pick to win it all was Pete Alonso, but may have to swap that out for Vlad......

That is crazy -- I remember watching the games in the 80's and it was so one-sided towards the NL. To see the AL with an overall lead, somewhat mind-blowing!

On the plus side, the HR Derby was amazing. Another year where the most memorable performance ends up not being the winning performance. Vlad had 91 HR's!!! I know every home run allowed a donation to be made to charity, so that made it even more fun. The three most memorable Derby performances that I can remember were McGwire @ Fenway, Hamilton @ Yankee Stadium, and Vlad @ Progressive -- and none of them won the overall title. But DO NOT change a thing with the format -- it is SO Much better now than it was in the past. The clock makes it move so much quicker.

One quick little note on the Womens World Cup - congrats to team USA. Still think you need to clean up your act a bit and be better role models for the young women who adore you!! And please, in future celebrations, don't let the American Flag hit the ground so that you can take a selfie..... As for the money situation, do you deserve to get paid more, yes. But if you take the overall economics of the mens v. womens game into account - it isn't the grandiose amount you think it is. You should however get high end travel, hotel, practice facilities, etc., that are equal to or better than the mens team!

Last major of the year kicks off Thursday morning..The Open Championship from Royal Portrush in Ireland. Koepka's caddie is a member there. Rory shot a 61 there as a 16 year old kid. Gary Woodland is the player with the latest major in his back pocket.

Can't wait for the coverage to start...hoping for typical British Isles weather -- blustery, damp, chilly!!

The Open is playing more like the US Open right now - love watching these guys have to hit shots to go low! Rory opened with a quad bogey. Tiger may not break 80 today. Premium on hitting fairways and greens - the way it should be!
