If you want to know how great the divide is amonst the higher and lower seeds in the 1st round it was certainly illustrated this past weekend where there were 8 games played (4 on Saturday and 4 on Sunday) and the road teams (the higher seeds) won all 8 games!

The Spurs just don't have any athleticism on their roster. They have some really good players but they are not of the athletic variety. The Spurs lost all those types in the last 2 years (Leonardi, Simmons and then losing Murray in the preseason) made them a very plodding team. It is impressive how they still make the playoffs somehow, someway.

The second round promises to be much better especially in the East.
Saw that regarding the road teams over the weekend -- but now that the Warriors have lost twice at home to the Clips, not sure what to do with that statistic!!

Almost looks like the Spurs are finally running out of gas and the Nuggets are using their advantages properly - which can be tough due to Pop's abilities. Speaking of Pop - did anyone else see the article on espn.com about his team dinners, etc. - I am not a huge fan of his, but respect his abilities and motivational drive.

Rockets shut the Jazz down. So all we have left in the first round is Spurs/Nuggets & Warriors/Clippers. Will either make it to Game 7??

Great counter point about the Warriors losing twice at home! And who would have thought that the Warriors would have one of the two longest first round series when playing the 8th sedd Clippers?

The Nuggets proved with their loss tonight that they are not contenders even though they are a #2 seed.

I think the Nuggets have over-achieved all season - hopefully their game 7 is a good one. All eyes will be on LA this evening...and the only way will see LeBron is if he bought a ticket. I am taking the Warriors on the road -- I think Kerr's comments about Beverly flopping were enough to light a fire under the officials to stop giving the benefit of the doubt to him.

And into the 2nd round we go...

Raptors/Sixers game 2 tonite - Raptors owned Game 1, hope the series becomes better...Siakam and Kawhi were unstoppable.

Bucks/Celtics- game 1 in the books, Celtics owned it. Entire Bucks team needs to play better.

Nuggets/Blazers - game 1 tonite, should be an interesting series...

Warriors/Rockets - game 1 to the Warriors. If this is continue to be played as the first game was - can we just have a foul shooting contest?? First team to make 100 free throws wins. The game was almost unwatchable. The Warriors whine about calls...the Rockets take it to a whole new level. I honestly hope the officials listen to what Harden said about just wanting the rules of the game to be enforced so he has a shot. Good, I hope so to - because Harden will foul out on his first six drives to the basket. I don't think I have ever seen him NOT push off or create space with his off arm. I have never taken a jump shot in an NBA game, but I have probably taken a half million of them over the course of my life - and never have I landed 4 feet in front of where I take off from OR do I kick both of my legs out in an attempt to draw contact. The NBA should treat the kicked out legs the same as flopping. Foul on the offending flopper, not the defender. That would shut it off in a hurry.

Also, sure hope the Rockets have a good excuse as to why Chris Paul can make contact with an official and not be suspended a game. It was clear he went after the official with intent after the correct no call with under 5 seconds left in the game.

Chris Paul fined $35k for contact with the ref - curious what it would have been if it had been Draymont who bumped an official.....

Couldn't be happier that the Warriors are up 2-0 heading to Houston. Fell asleep prior to halftime last night, but it looked like a lot of the chippy, whiny stuff had disappeared.

Bucks bounced back nicely against the Celtics, but now have to go on the road.

Sixers bounced back nicely against the Raptors, and now get to go home. Did I read the stat right that said the Raptors bench has a total of 15 points through 2 games....

Blazers/Nuggets- Looked like the Nuggets may be able to control this series with Jokic.

And just like that - the Blazers steal one in Denver to even that series up at 1 apiece.

Sixers/Raptors tonight -- game 3 winners go on to win 75% of series that are tied up 1-1. This would be a HUGE statement game for Philly if they can make it happen.

Wow did the Sixers look good last night - I think that is the team everyone was looking for when they made the Butler and Harris deals. On the flip side, through 3 games, the only guys to show up for the Raptors have been Kawhi and Siakam. Lowry has been an absolute no show.

Raptors stole back home court by evening the series up in Philly at 2 - 2. Is Kawhi one of the 2 best players in the league now, behind only KD????

Nuggets stole back home court by defeating the Blazers. Murray & Nokic look tough when they are on!

Bucks/Celts & Warriors/Rockets tonight - Feel like one series will be 3-1 and the other 2-2 when the final whistle blows - just not sure where I want to lay the wager on that one!

Bucks take control of their series by winning both games on the road in Boston. The Greek Freak looks unstoppable these last couple games.

Rockets/Warriors knotted up at 2 apiece. Klay and Steph better wake up and help KD out, or the Rockets will be moving on. If the Clippers can win 2 in Oracle, no reason that the Rockets can't win one....

Sixers/Raptors this evening, the boys from Philly better put on their big boy pants or they will be in a lot of trouble.

Who are the Rockets going to whine to now??? They just lost at home to a Warriors team without KD or Boogie. Not totally thrilled that the Warriors have a shot to get back to the championship finals, but SO happy it isn't the Rockets moving on!

Bucks handled the Celtics with ease...

Sixers/Raptors & Nuggets/Blazers each have a Game 7 coming up -- and can anyone left beat the Bucks or Warriors???

Some great game 7s today that both went down to the wire! Kawai's last second shot to win it is an all timer that will be seen on highlights for decades to come. He is definitely in the discussion for best player in the NBA along with Greek Freak and KD. LeBron could be back in that discussion depending on how next year goes for him

I gotta go with Greg Anthony....and Shaq and Barkley......as to why Embid never posted up. I know it is nice to have a big that can shoot 3s but constantly standing 20 feet from the basket negates his physical advantage.

I loved the Rockets going down to the undermanned Warriors. When the score was tied at 57 with Steph having 0 points and 3 fouls, you knew it was a bad omen. Golden State was playing 3rd stringers and they still scored 57 on the defenseless Rockets. Thank goodness I don't have to watch Harden initiate contact and flop his way to 15 fts a game. Not to mention his constant traveling and blatantly pushing off on his defenders. Oh and I don't have to watch them cry over every play they don't get a foul called on the other team.

Now I'll be rooting for Portland/Toronto and Milwaukee to win the whole thing. ! down (Rockets) and 1 to go (Warriors)

Finally over the quad-bounce game winner that knocked the Sixers out.....Tough one to swallow, but when the best player on the other team makes a play like, you tip your cap, give them a golf clap and move on full time to baseball season. And any Philly fan who is truly upset about the way the bounces went there - just look back to the NFL playoffs and ask Chicago fans how they felt after their kicker triple doinked the potential game winning FG against the Eagles - sometimes you are the bug. sometimes you are the windshield!

At least we got two very, very good Game 7's!

Warriors/Blazers..Kevin who????? The Warriors have looked tough since KD went out - back to playing their normal style of ball, not running everything through KD. Interesting to see what happens when he comes back to the lineup.

Glad Kawhi decided to finally take a 4th quarter off - just a shame it was against the Bucks and not the Sixers!!! Not an overly exciting game....Brook Lopez dominated with his 3 point shooting ability.

Pulling for the Raptors, if only because of Danny Green - the last remaining Tar Heel in the playoffs. Several Dukies were knocked out last round - JJ Redick and 1 of the 1400 Plumlee brothers among them.
