Welcome to TTM autograph collecting. I warn you, though, it is painfully addicting!

Is the return envelope, "self-addressed stamped envelope", an envelope inside your request with your address and postage.

Alright, after reading about TTM's for years I am going to give it a try. My Mom works for an NFL team, and early this season they had allumni day. She dealt with a number of famous to no name former players. My Mom is not allowed to ask for personnel favors, and she never would.

A former 1970's era almost no name who did have a few cards asked if she remembered him. She of course did not but mentioned that she has a son who is really into card collecting and that he would remember him. That is me. I only remember his cards not his playing. Well he gave her his business card and told her to have me send him a card and that he would autograph it. So I have the address and my Mom has been on me to send a card. Here I go into the world of TTM's.

Wish me luck on my first attempt.

    Shawn

Already with enough postage so that the player can return whatever you sent him

what I do is I buy a box of larger envelopes (4 1/8 x 9 1/2) to put everything in. Then one of the regular sized envelopes as the sase. Write your letter on an index card. Doing these 2 things will cut down the shipping to one stamp.

I have been sending cards ttm for a long time... Im thinking of sending baseballs to a few players, I was just wondering what the best way to approach that was. Sending a box or a big padded envelope? Please give me some ideas thank you!

What I've done is a small box to send and a bubble mailer for a SASE (usually put $2 of stamps).

I send the ball in a small box. Inside include an adhesive label with your address and a return stamp (you can buy a stamp for $4.50 or whatever the postage amounts to). Some 'graphers prefer to send their own pen as well -- but there's no guarantee the recipient will use it. Nor is there a guarantee they'll sign on the sweet spot.

One more thing to consider ... send a letter to ask permission first.

    Good luck!
