Baseball trading has been a bit slow lately (at least for me), so I decided to give Sports Cards Forum a try lately...

First, allow me to congratulate the folks that run The Bench. Even though SCF is also built on vBulletin, I find The Bench to better in many small ways that add up to make The Bench the superior trading site.

But there was one simple thing that I liked a good deal better: on SCF the text of private messages appeared in the emails that get pushed out (just as the text of threads here appear in the email alerts). I found that this makes PMs much more useful/less annoying.... not just because it makes reading the message a one-step process, but because it retains a record of the communication in my email that is easily searchable and is not bound by storage constraints.

Is this a user setting that I'm to change myself somehow? If not, is it a feature that could be enabled?

However, it's not that I don't get email notification when PM'd (I do, and do want to), it's that the email notification does not include the text of the PM... and it is apparently possible for the email to include the PM text.

That isn't an option with our current version of vbulletin....but we are working on an upgrade.

We are updating the vbulletin software in the coming weeks, So if it is not something We can implement it now, hopefully it is something we can implement then. I will continue looking into it, May not be able to do anything until Thursday as tonight and tomorrow I have a lot going on.
