I didn't know (or had forgotten) that he died in October. He was a pitch man for Skoal Chewing tobacco and whenever I think of him Iit is his opening line in those ads "Hi, I'm Walt Garrison" in that Texas drawl. I'll bet some of those ads are on Youtube although probably age restricted because of "the children".

I just checked and those ads were not age restricted. The ones I found were from 1986 and I thought he had done these much earlier. There were also ads for Skoal from Earl Campbell and Sparky Lyle but I don't remember seeing those.

He was a real Cowboy too... he was a constant on the rodeo circuit.

One of the best features of the 1960s cards were the subsets. League Leaders, World Series and those awesome combo cards with multiple players on them with clever titles like Buc Belters and Bird Hill Aces..
