You can't really tell but there is a little wax staining on the front.

You can tell why they called him "The Gray Eagle" in this card... I like "Spoke" the best tho, I've got a book about Speaker I haven't read yet, when I find out who and how he got his nicknames I'll be sure to let u know!
I HAD to look up why they called him "Spoke". I couldn't wait to read it in the book. Apparently he got it because one of his teammates, Bill Carrigan, who was somehow an in-team rival of Speaker, would yell "Speaker Spoke!" after Tris got a hit. I guess he got enough hits for the nickname to stick. It seems that there were alot of feuds on teams back then. I read that players would form cliques based on their religious backgrounds. And something extremely disappointing to me... Speaker may have been a member of the ***. He was Protestant and I guess the **** were extremely anti-catholic, not to mention that the leader of the **** came from Speaker's hometown of Hubbard, Texas. I just hope that's a myth, but I have a feeling there were even more prominent players that were members, Ty Cobb being one of them. Anyway, there's a little history about one of the best dead-ball era players. Speaker Spoke!

O.J.'s last card as a Bill along with a Record Breaker card in the same set. His regular card in '78 Topps was in a 49ers uniform which STILL to this day looks odd to me!
Hard to believe Witten is #4 on the all time career reception list behind only Rice, Fitzgerald and Tony Gonzalez. Even harder to believe than that is Rob Gronkowski is #88 on the all time receptions list 84 spots below Witten!You all almost didn't get your daily installment of Big D! So Sorry 'bout that!

Yes, it's true he may have been a **** member in the 20's. There are rumors that Hornsby, Cobb, and Anson were too.
But when Larry Doby came to the Indians in the summer of '47, Speaker worked closely with him to help him transition from 2B to CF, helping to turn him into one of the best in the AL.
