Sorry if this is in the wrong forum.
edit* (LOL - it turns out i had card talk blocked in user CP)
============================================

I could use some advice about the following.

I have a 1958 Ryne Duren on toppsmillion.
Someone is offering the following 4
1958 topps cards for it on toppsmillion.
Bill Fischer
Jim Bolger
Don Ferrarese
Joe Jay (aka Joey Jay)

At a glance this trade is well in my favor, and i should jump on it.
However, when i poke around on Ebay i spot dozens upon dozens of all the players being offered (except for Ferrarese)
while only being able to find 2 or 3 of the Ryne Durens.

So i guess I'm just wondering if the Duren is particularly rare ?
Given that all of these cards should be in really good shape
what would you do ?
thanks
dave

Have you checked the Becket or Tuff Stuff book value for these cards?
If you list the numbers, I can check the Tuff Stuff BV for you.

Like you said, these should all be pretty much Mint or at least Near Mint.

I checked on Ebay under completed auctions and didn't find any real difference in the number of Duren/Jay/Bolger/Fischer cards being offered. They were all around 8-10, and there were 13 Ferrarese, so I don't see a major difference in cards being sold.
The Duren is a rookie, and a Yankee, so that may account for some of the higher sales on his card.

There is no guarantee that the cards will be in NrMt or even Mt. I received a 57 Topps card and it was in EX at best.

Can you still have the cards shipped to you? I thought there was a deadline on that.

.

Jeffo65 is right about the condition.
As far as shipping, I think you have until March 1st to request cards.

I received some cards that would be poor. Checklists that were checked, multiple creases, etc. Not real please with my "haul" wasn't worth the shipping.

I hadnt thought to look at completed auctions.
Did notice there were only like 2 or 3 Durens currently on Ebay
while there was literally dozens of the other players mentioned.

The respective basic Beckett BV without getting into graded
15 for the Duren

12,10,8,8 for the 4 cards being offered
so at a glance this is 2.5 times in my favor.
I think one of em is also a first card.

thanks for the responses and

Please keep the opinions coming.

I wouldn't wait too long on that.. from time to time, I've gotten ridiculously in my favor trades OFFERED TO ME for certain cards.. Some examples.. 1968 Tommie Agee $10 for a $2 68 no name common ... $20 in 59's for 88 Tom Glavine RC.. and many more like that. On that site, BV isn't a huge factor, especially to the people who are paying to have their cards shipped.
