It's the 4th and I didn't see a February pickups thread yet so I thought I'd make one. If a Mod could sticky it I'd appreciate it.

First up are the highlights of my shipment from the Topps Diamond Giveaway, including the famously ugly Don Mossi!
toppsdgiveaway.jpg

I didn't do too well with my codes, but I was able to get some stuff that I traded for a few vintage A's. I also unlocked a Diamond Die-Cut Austin Jackson that I traded for the Andrew Bailey above. I had previously picked up the Brett Anderson and Kurt Suzuki Die-Cuts on eBay so this one rounded out the active A's from the set.

Next one is from a Bench trade with klute14:

I began following baseball in 1988 and the A's were my favorite team so of course Jose Canseco was my favorite player. It's always nice to pick up GU cards of his in an A's uni, especially one numbered/100!

This one came in from an off-Bench trade:

One of the benefits of having a website with a regular ol' url is that once in a while people will stumble upon it from a google search and initiate a deal. This nice Vida Blue Greats of the Game autograph came from somebody who is active on one or two other trading site but not on The Bench. He collects Ravens stuff and I had a double of a Trent Dilfer Super Bowl GU football card he needed.

One more:

This 1971 Topps Reggie Jackson ($13 dlvd on eBay) isn't as nice as the 1970 I got last month, but it's not bad at all for a '71.

Made it a sticky! Can't believe I didn't notice it earlier when I posted in the January thread! LOL!

Love that Canseco, btw! ;)

Got this one in this week:

I too like the Canseco. He was my favorite player when I started collecting in 1989. I still have over 8000 of his cards but don't have that one.

I picked these up this past week:

Love the '95 Press Proof, that was a classic set. Back in the day when it was really special to have a card limited to 2,000. They are still a little hard to find.

I had some money in the PayPal account so I did some star purchasing for my 1993 Stadium Club 1st Day Issue set, about $30 paid for these three, the Marino & Smith book at $40 where the Rice at $25. Rice is a duplicate I will probably use to get a needed star for the set. I am down to needing 94 out of 550.

Nothing super special here, just a couple of cards that have eluded me over the years.

I have recently picked up 3 great autographs that were tucked away nearly secretly in lots.

The first was a 1974 Topps Andy Messersmith autograph. The lot was for 25 Dodger cards. I saw it in the scan and hit the BIN as fast as I possibly could as the lot had just been listed recently. Price? $1.50 for the lot!!!

The other two came from team autograph lots. However, this time the names of the players included were not listed in the title or the description. I gotta say I love finding nuggets like this, but I always feel a little sorry for the sellers and wonder why something so simple would be overlooked. It is not tough to write a brief, but effective description to sell your items!

From the 10 card Blue Jays lot that cost me $9.99, a nice 1978 Topps Pete Vuckovich autograph!

From the 10 card Mariners lot that cost me $16.06, a nice 1979 Topps Enrique Romo autograph!! Bonus cards from the lot....1977 Topps Dick Pole and 2 Larry Milbourn 79 & 80.

I love ebay sometimes!
