Apologies for the scan -- Lucite encasing makes for a bad scan....

Topps Archives Signature Series are buy back cards that have been stamped, numbered and autographed by the player. The cards are encased in Lucite with a Topps foil seal. Various cards seemed to be numbered up to 99.... way too high for my taste. I have taken the stand that when a premium issue comes out, with a premium price (here in O'do boxes - 1 card are going for $45-$50) the cards should not be numbered any higher than 25 at most.

I don't know the odds of pulling Judge, Othani, Trout, Kershaw, Harper, Bryant, etc., but it would seem that if they are numbered even to 36 or less, the price/worth of the card would go thru the roof. Should you pull one, you are a very fortunate person.

Overall grade A- .... the card looks great, well done, auto is excellent -- should be limited to just 25 or less. This grade is solely based on the one card that I received.

Actually, I kinda charted it last year. They were breaking like 40 boxes. Some guys like Charlie Hayes, Jose Rijo, and some of the lesser guys were getting 5 or more cards, and the spots for them were only a couple of bucks. Usually, the bigger hits were double figures, but most were under $10, even for guys like Chipper and such. It was interesting, but I never did one. I have never been in on one. I did one here years ago (2007 I believe), and we had some good stuff come out, but it was kinda a one time deal. I don't think I did too well on it after paypal fees and shipping fees.

I decided to just sell off the Update Jumbos I had left, and I remember a member getting a Ryan Howard auto out of the box (and I was pretty bummed that I didn't get it, lol). Check ebay, as that is where I seen them last year. I watched like 3 of their breaks, and kept track of the breakdown of what was being pulled. If I remember correctly, there were some money makers (not huge), but guys like Cleon Jones was getting several pulls in each break, and was costing like $4 for him. Guys were getting 4 or 5 cards, and they were selling individually for like $10 each then.

Hope that answers your questions. Thanks again, Tony.
