As I was flipping through my vintage baseball that I want to get rid of, I noticed that some cards have a whitish back, some are gray. Is there a specific reason for this? Does it affect the value in any way? Should I state if a card has a gray or white back?

I noticed this decades ago, but never really thought about it until today.

The only ones I have seen with either the white or grey back are the 1960 Topps #'s 375-440. I do not think there is a price difference between the two.

I know 52s had black or red printing, 56s have grey or white backs, as did 59s. I don't think it matters on most as the print run was close for each style, although you might check the guides to be sure. There may be some sets or singles that have a more difficult variation than the other.
